Ans:i) if engine fails to turn on air after 'START' order has been given-

1. Air bottle pressure too low.

2. Main air v/v on bottle may shut.

3. Automatic v/v may shut or malfunctioning.

4. Distributor manual v/v close.

5. Starting air v/v lacking or stuck in close position.

6. Cannot shift to end position.

7. Turning gear engaged, control air shut.

8. Auxiliary Blower not on Auto mode.

9. Auto or manual shut down not reset.

10. Lube oil pressure low.

ii) If this is electric starting system-


1.      May be less battery charge.

2.      Starting motor damage or faulty.

3.      The wiring may be damage.

4.    Damage battery.

 

ii) Engine turning on air, not starting on fuel:

1. Low fuel pressure or pumps not running or filter may chocked

2. Vapor lock in F0 System or low F0 temp.

3. Puncture v/v operating on air

4. Fuel injectors not primed.

S. Governor Malfunctioning

6. Governor linkage problem.

7. Too low compression
